Likes: Sweet things, people who give him attention
Dislikes: Being excluded
Nationality: (Presumably) Japanese
Initial Release: TBD
"An alien of few words, for he is mute at all times except for when he sings. It is said that he gave up his voice to come to Earth."
Personality: Rey is described as an airhead, and one that is prone to getting himself into trouble frequently. He can be rather playful, and likes to tease others (particularly those in grumpy moods).
History: He is apparently an alien who traveled to Earth and stumbled upon RYATA MAXUM when he landed in an alleyway in his town. The two exchanged glances in the street and Rey immediately began to follow him around. Rey expressed an inability to speak normal words, which is assumed to be because he "gave up his voice" in order to come to Earth.
Habits: He has a hard time "sitting still" and tends to stick his nose in places where it doesn't belong. He also enjoys cooking, although he is very bad at it. He likes to share his favorite Earth treat, which is Red Velvet Cake.
Lifestyle: Rey doesn't exactly have a "home" since coming to Earth. He would visit the MAXUM residence occasionally, but no one is really quite sure where he goes when he leaves. His visits seem to be random.
Voicebank Information
Rey is an OBSCURALOID who was originally intended to be the third member of a triad alongside RYATA MAXUM and Rene Raizel. However, extreme complications in his development led to him being postponed and eventually Kurami ASTER becoming the third public OBSCURALOID instead. He has since become known for his rocky development and the fact that he has had multiple voice providers over the course of his existence.
Like many remote DH UTAUs, Rey was first voiced by Kitty Kurai. However, similarities between his voicebank and Rene's (as well as overall low quality recordings) decreased the desire to continue developing him. As he was the 6th unique active UTAU to be voiced by Kitty, creating new sounding voices was becoming more difficult. But in 2018 he received a loan voicebank from a different voice provider and eventually an update to that one.
Rey has had further complications in his development, such as a period of time where he lost usage rights to his own voicebanks and became voiceless, but he is currently in active development once again.
He was used in a cover alongside AYATO and RYATA MAXUM in the summer of 2019:
